Mary G. Loblaw, OStJ started wth St John Ambulance way back in 1987. Today she serves with dedication, attending many many events. We are very grateful for her many years of service and constant contributions to SJA. Mary now wears gets to remove 2 silver bars to her existing medal ribbon, then remove them, to add 2 gold bars. This is because Mary was presented with her 20, 25, 30 and 35 year bars on the same day, by her DS, at an event at Rogers Arena. We thank you for your patience Mary as St John caught up with your many years of service and long overdue awards.
The Service Medal of the Order of St John is awarded to recognize long service with the Order of St John Ambulance or St John Ambulance. Bars are added to the ribbon for each 5-year increment following the medal administration at 10 years. It is an approved medal in the Canadian Honour System.
