How do I sign up for an event?
You can sign up for events via your VMS account.

If you have previously signed up for an event and no longer see it in your list, please simply look for the tab labeled "my events".
If you are from a different division and want to attend an event at Rogers Arena, please email rogers.arena@sjabcy.ca with:
your name, your division, your training level and your phone number, and one of our officers will share the event with your division.​​

What to wear for the event?
SJA-issued white dress Shirt black pants, black shoes/boots, and black belt. You may wear your SJA-issued black sweaters if you have one, but be advised that yellow High Visibility Vests will be provided. The yellow Vests provided are mandatory for all volunteers providing patient care, they are the also the kits that we now use at the arena.
We recommend that you avoid athletic wear as they are very absorbent and will soak up protein spills rather than keep you dry and safe. If you have not been issued an SJA Uniform shirt yet, please wear a white dress shirt or T-Shirt.
Can I bring accessories?

You may bring an earpieces or headphones with a 3.5mm headphone connector to aid in hearing the radios.

You may also bring a stethoscope, trauma shears or duty belt if you have one.

Please DO NOT bring electronic BP Cuffs, ECG monitors, Glucose monitors, IV supplies, Medication intended for patient use, or anything not in the scope of Medical First Responder

Where do I park?
Please see the Parking Page below. If using your Cell phone, just click on the icon and google map will show how to get there!

I'm at the Arena, where do I go?
Once you arrive at the arena, please enter through Gate 9 if you walked/took transit or are getting dropped off.

If you were granted permission to park or P2 if that is where you parked).

Let security know that you are with St John Ambulance First Aid or you may be sent to Gate 2.

Meet the rest of the team at FA104 (a.k.a. First Aid 100) located across Section 104 on Level 100.

If you encounter any problems, ask them to contact the St John Ambulance Duty Commander @ 778-788-3843.

Volunteers must report to the muster location immediately upon entering the building.

I'm ready for my shift, now what?
You have made it to FA100, now you can expect that we will have a briefing, we will go over some information that volunteers need to be successful... and go over the roster (but you can get a head-start by looking below.

You will now be dispatched to calls, and take care of the patients.

Wait, I can get a refund?
Volunteering at Rogers Arena doesnt have to cost a lot. Volunteers already get 50% off food and free drinks. With your receipt, you can apply for a refund from PHQ. Please see the Reimbursement policy and find the form here.

I'm going to be late/I need to cancel my shift?
Please email Rogers.Arena@sjabcy.ca to address your concerns.

If there is enough time for your cancellation, please attempt to find a replacement.
